Statistics
The award-winning Drug Court has demonstrated a 34 percent recidivism rate in comparison to the 80 percent
recidivism rate of non-drug court participants. These results have had a significant impact on reduction of crime,
reduction in jail overcrowding, and a savings of taxpayer dollars. The program has afforded treatment to those who
may otherwise have had no opportunity for treatment and, most importantly, has returned productive citizens to the
community and to their families and friends.
The table and graph below reflect the number of Drug Court Graduates rearrested. The time period for this table starts
at graduation and is subdivided by 6 month increments communicating over 20% of Drug Court Graduates rearrested
are
arrested within 6 months of graduation. The graph draws a trend showing a likelihood of the 503 reoffenders
acquiring
a drug related charge declining as time after graduation elapses.

The below listed chart and accompanying graph indexes the number of Drug Court Graduates and the number of
respective rearrests per year. Our existing database reflects 1333 people have graduated the Drug Court as measured
from inception to December 31, 2009. Of the 1333 graduates, 37.73% or 503 people have reoffended under
